Built to make motoring fun

"The Charger II reflects a number of engineering, styling and consumer thoughts. It is a car embodying good aerodynamic characteristics.  Seating is an important item.  Therefore, we decided on a four place car as opposed to a two-seater fastback. It is a study and an evaluation of exterior lighting applications.  Evaluation of flow-through ventilation applications.  A clean design, exterior and interior, that is permitted by the elimination of side vent windows and the flow-through ventilation.  We are thinking that perhaps the Charger II is a possible answer to consumer interest in sportier, fastback type cars.  And, our building of the car is an expression and even an exercise in the exploration of this theme."

chief engineer and manager of product planning
